I am writing this letter to draw your kind attention to a serious problem in our city. Many children are found homeless and have made the streets of our city their habitat. They are seen sleeping at bus parks, footpaths, and under bridges. They are deprived of food, shelter, education, and care. They are also at high risk of accidents, diseases, drug addiction, and abuse.
This situation has not only made their lives miserable but has also affected the beauty and dignity of our city. Therefore, I request you to take the following steps to manage them:
- Conduct a survey to find out the actual number of such children.
- Establish child rehabilitation centres and shelters for them.
- Provide them with food, clothing, health check-ups, and education.
- Reunite them with their families if possible, or arrange foster care.
- Take strict legal action against those who force children to beg or work on the streets.
