Every year on June 21st, the world celebrates International Yoga Day. It is a global tribute to Yoga's universal appeal and ancient wisdom. This celebration is really significant. However, it should be integrated meaningfully into daily life. It should also be made an integral part of school practices and urban planning decisions.

Answer

Many children are found homeless and they have made the streets of your city as their habitat. Write a letter to the mayor of your municipality requesting him/her to manage them.

Answer

Kathmandu, Nepal 15 Jestha 2082

The Mayor Kathmandu Metropolitan City Kathmandu

Subject: Request to Manage Homeless Children Living on the Streets

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am writing to draw your kind attention to a serious problem in our city. Many children are found homeless and have made the streets of Kathmandu their habitat. They sleep on footpaths, near temples and bus parks, and spend their days begging for food. They have no proper shelter, food, clothing or education. Most of them are deprived of parental care and are at high risk of being involved in drug abuse, theft and other criminal activities. They also fall victim to accidents and various diseases.

This situation is not only painful for the children but also a matter of shame for our society. Therefore, I humbly request you to take the following steps:

  1. Rescue the homeless children from the streets and provide them with safe shelter, food and clothing.
  2. Establish and strengthen child rehabilitation centres with proper care and counselling.
  3. Arrange free education and skill-based training so that they can become self-dependent.
  4. Reunite them with their families wherever possible, and take legal action against those who force children to beg.
  5. Launch public awareness programmes and coordinate with NGOs and other concerned agencies to solve this problem permanently.

I hope you will consider this matter seriously and take necessary steps at the earliest. I shall be grateful for your kind response.

Yours faithfully, Ramesh Shrestha Kathmandu
