Read the following text and write 'TRUE' for true statements and 'FALSE' for the false ones. (5x1=5)
Photography
When you get a break, take your phone or camera, walk to a park, and take pictures. You do not have to be a pro photographer or have the best gear in the market to pick up this rewarding hobby.
All you need is a good eye, a camera or a smartphone, and a good understanding of basic photography skills like lighting, depth, and exposure. The best part of the photography hobby is that you can preserve memories and have beautiful pictures on your walls.
Writing
Writing is one of the most popular hobbies that people enjoy because of the freedom. People write everything and anything; from how they spent their day to new recipes.
Writing journals to keep track of your daily activities is also a great way to handle stress, relax, and boost productivity. Studies show that the world's most successful people keep journals.
Also, if you feel the need to share your knowledge on a particular topic or niche, feel free to write a blog. It's always a great way to express yourself and connect with people of like-minds.
And you could also try writing a book or poem. It doesn't have to feel major before you write it down.
I. Photography can be a paying hobby. II. Pictures help you recall your past. III. You need a lot of knowledge to start with a writing hobby. IV. Writing connects the people having different thoughts. V. You cannot share your knowledge through writing.

Read the text and do the tasks.
Dear Sabrina, Thanks for your letter, and it was my immense pleasure to hear from you. You asked me to tell you about by favourite day of the week. Well; it's definitely Friday.
Why I like Friday is because I have my favourite subjects at school: PE and Chemistry. Chemistry is particularly interesting because it involves practical experiments. Moreover, our chemistry teacher, Mr. King, has a wonderful sense of humour. In PE, we usually play basketball, which is my favourite sport. Since I'm tall and active, I perform well and our team usually achieves success.
On Fridays we have French classes, which I find challenging. But, I enjoy the ICT class after the French class. At the moment, I'm working on designing a webpage for our basketball team. This has helped me to boost my technical and creative skills.
After school, I hang out with my friends, and then in the evening, I play football at the sports centre. On Friday nights, we sometimes go to parties or to watch movies. We can relax a bit on Friday evenings because there's no school on Saturday. In your next letter, tell me about your favourite day at school. Love Dani

Write an essay on 'The Importance of Reading'. (8)

Answer

The Importance of Reading

Reading is one of the most useful habits a person can develop. It is a window through which we look at the world, and it is a source of knowledge, pleasure and wisdom.

Firstly, reading increases our knowledge. Through books, newspapers and magazines we learn about history, science, other cultures and current events, and we can learn from the experiences of great people without leaving our homes. Secondly, it improves language skills. Regular readers learn new words, write better and speak more confidently. Thirdly, reading sharpens the mind. It improves concentration, imagination and the ability to think critically. Reading is also a good way to relax and reduce stress, and a good book is a loyal friend in loneliness. For students, it is the key to success in examinations because it strengthens understanding of the subject matter.

Unfortunately, today many young people spend most of their free time on mobile phones, games and social media instead of reading. To develop a reading habit, parents and teachers should encourage children to read every day, and schools and communities should have well-equipped libraries. We should also make it a rule to read for at least half an hour daily.

In conclusion, reading makes a full man, as Francis Bacon said. Everybody should cultivate this habit for a bright and successful life.
