Sodium-glucose pump is an example of (a) Primary active transport protein (b) Secondary active transport protein (c) Primary passive transport protein (d) Secondary passive transport protein

Answer

(b) Secondary active transport protein

The sodium-glucose pump (SGLT) is a symporter: it does not use ATP directly. Instead, it uses the energy stored in the Na⁺ concentration gradient that was built up by the Na⁺–K⁺ ATPase pump. Since the driving force comes indirectly from ATP, it is secondary active transport.
