Clearify the role and responsibilities that you can play as an adolescent for the social development of the society.
Answer
Role and Responsibilities of an Adolescent in Social Development
Introduction Adolescence is the transitional stage of life between childhood and adulthood, roughly from 10 to 19 years. It is a period of rapid physical, mental, emotional and social change. Adolescents form a large part of Nepal's population and are full of energy, curiosity and idealism. Because of this, they can play a very important role in the social development of society. Social development means the improvement of social conditions such as education, health, equality, justice, harmony and the overall quality of life of people. As an adolescent, I can contribute to this process in the following ways.
1. Spreading education and awareness An adolescent can help to spread education and awareness in society. I can encourage illiterate people, especially children and women, to join literacy classes. I can share correct information about health, hygiene, nutrition, sanitation and communicable diseases in my community. I can also make people aware of social evils such as child marriage, dowry, caste discrimination, untouchability, gender discrimination and drug abuse. Awareness is the first step towards social reform.
2. Participating in social service and volunteer work I can take part in social service activities such as cleaning campaigns, tree plantation, blood donation, disaster relief and helping the poor, elderly and disabled people. Joining youth clubs, Red Cross circles, scouts and local NGOs gives me a platform to serve society. Such voluntary work directly improves the living conditions of people and builds a spirit of cooperation.
3. Promoting education and good habits among peers As an adolescent, I can motivate my friends and juniors to go to school regularly, avoid bad company and stay away from smoking, drinking and drugs. I can form study groups and help weaker students. By being a good example through discipline, honesty and hard work, I can influence others positively.
4. Raising voice against social injustice I can raise my voice against injustice, exploitation and discrimination. I can report cases of child labour, domestic violence and abuse to parents, teachers or concerned authorities. I can support campaigns for the rights of women, children and marginalized groups. This helps to establish a fair and just society.
5. Preserving and promoting culture and social harmony Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual and multi-religious country. As an adolescent, I can respect all castes, religions and cultures and encourage others to do the same. I can take part in festivals, cultural programmes and community activities that bring people together. This strengthens social unity, tolerance and mutual understanding.
6. Using social media responsibly Adolescents are active users of social media. I can use it to spread positive messages, share knowledge and raise awareness about social issues instead of spreading rumours or hatred. Responsible use of social media can be a powerful tool for social development.
7. Cooperating with local bodies and organizations I can cooperate with the local government, schools, health posts and NGOs in their programmes such as immunization campaigns, literacy programmes and awareness campaigns. By volunteering in these programmes, I can help them reach more people and become more effective.
8. Developing leadership and good citizenship By participating in student unions, youth clubs and community meetings, I can develop leadership qualities. As a responsible citizen, I can follow rules, pay attention to civic duties and encourage others to be law-abiding. Good citizens are the foundation of a developed society.
Conclusion In this way, an adolescent can play the role of an awareness-builder, social worker, reformer, cultural promoter and responsible citizen. Adolescents are not only the future of the nation but also the present force for change. If every adolescent uses his or her energy, creativity and enthusiasm in the right direction, social development can be achieved faster. Therefore, as an adolescent, I should develop good character, take part in social service and work honestly for the welfare of society.

Write one letters to your sister who has just entred to the adolscent stage by mentioning the changes appeared, problem should faced and ways to management it in that age.
Answer
A Model Letter (8 marks)
Kathmandu, Nepal 15 Jestha 2082
Dear Sister,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I was very happy to hear that you have now entered the adolescent stage. This is a very important and delicate period of life, so I am writing this letter to guide you about the changes you will experience, the problems you may face, and the ways to manage them properly.
Adolescence is the transitional period between childhood and adulthood, usually from 10 to 19 years. During this stage, you will notice many physical changes such as a sudden increase in height and weight, growth of hair in new places, changes in voice, and the development of reproductive organs. Girls also begin menstruation. Along with these, you will feel emotional changes like mood swings, attraction towards the opposite sex, and a strong desire for independence. You may also become more conscious of your appearance and more influenced by friends than by family.
Because of these changes, adolescents often face many problems. You may feel confused and stressed, quarrel with parents, lose interest in studies, or fall into bad habits such as smoking and drinking due to peer pressure. Nutritional problems like anaemia, early marriage, teenage pregnancy, and unsafe sexual behaviour are also serious risks at this age. Many adolescents suffer from low self-confidence and mental tension.
However, all these problems can be managed with care. First, eat a balanced diet rich in green vegetables, fruits, milk, and meat to stay healthy and prevent anaemia. Second, do regular exercise and take enough rest. Third, share your feelings openly with parents, teachers, or a trusted elder instead of keeping them inside. Fourth, choose good friends and avoid bad company. Fifth, manage your time wisely by giving proper attention to studies, hobbies, and recreation. Finally, maintain personal hygiene, especially during menstruation, and stay away from smoking, alcohol, and drugs.
Dear sister, do not be afraid of this stage. It is a natural part of growing up. If you remain disciplined, positive, and open to advice, you will pass through it successfully and become a capable and confident woman.
Please give my regards to our parents and love to the younger ones.
Your loving brother, Suman
