Write a letter to your cousin recommending him/her a book/novel that you thought worth reading in about 180 words. Describe the factors that you liked most.
Answer
Butwal-4, Traffic Chowk 10 April 2025
Dear Samir,
I hope this letter finds you well and happy. I am fine here, and everyone at home sends you their love.
I am writing to recommend a book that I recently finished and loved, Basain by Lain Singh Bangdel. If you like stories that touch the heart, I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.
What I liked most was its simple and realistic story. It describes the life of an ordinary family in a village, with their joys, struggles and hopes, so well that I felt I knew the characters. The language is easy and beautiful, and every page carries deep feeling. It also taught me about our culture, our social problems and the importance of kindness.
Another reason I admired the book is that it made me think about life and my own behaviour long after I closed it. It is not very long, so you can finish it in a few days.
Please read it and tell me what you think. I look forward to our discussion.
With love, Your cousin, Nisha

You have a friend who is fond of shopping but careless about the quality of the goods she/he buys. She/he doesn't check the packaging, expiry date or the ingredients used. Now, write a letter in about 180 words suggesting him/her what things should be considered while buying goods from the market.
Answer
Pokhara-6, Bagar 12 April 2025
Dear Ritesh,
I hope you are doing well. I am fine, and I am studying hard for the exams.
I am writing to share some advice on shopping, because I have noticed that you do not check the quality of the goods you buy. Please do not take it badly, as I only want you to stay healthy and save your money.
First, always look at the packaging. Do not buy a pack that is torn, swollen or leaking. Secondly, check the manufacturing and expiry dates, since expired food and medicine can make you seriously ill. Thirdly, read the list of ingredients, and avoid goods with too many chemicals, colours and preservatives. Also look for the quality mark, the price label and the company's address, and compare the price in two or three shops. Finally, take a bill for every purchase, so that you can complain if something goes wrong.
A few minutes of care can protect your health and your money.
With best wishes, Your friend, Sandeep

Ram assured me that he would meet me at the bus station exactly at 8 a.m. It is now 10 a.m. I have waiting for him since early morning. (Identify which verb form is incorrect and rewrite.)
Answer
Ram assured me that he would meet me at the bus station exactly at 8 a.m. It is now 10 a.m. I have been waiting for him since early morning.
The incorrect form is "have waiting". The action began in the past and continues up to now, so the present perfect continuous "have been waiting" is needed.

Yubaraj said that the document was personal and he wouldn't let me to read it. (Identify the grammatical error in the underlined part 'let me to read it' and correct it.)
Answer
Yubaraj said that the document was personal and he wouldn't let me read it.
After "let" we use the bare infinitive (without "to"), so "let me to read" is wrong.

They saw that a tiger was prowling in the shrub near them. They attacked the tiger. (Combine the two sentences using "as soon as".)
Answer
They attacked the tiger as soon as they saw that it was prowling in the shrub near them.
"As soon as" joins the two actions, showing that the attack followed the sighting immediately.
